A training workshop introducing students to genome sciences and their biomedical and pharmaceutical applications, including gene therapy, pharmacogenomics, molecular forensics, and computer-aided drug design.
This workshop introduces the participants to Pharmacogenomics, with emphasis on computational tools for pharmacogenomics analysis.
The main objectives are:
- Understanding the genetic basis for variability in drug response
- Introduction to systems biology and pharmacogenomics
- Introduction to drug development in the post-genomic era
- Drug targets and inter-individual differences in treatment response
- Practice on use of selected pharmacogenomics databases and resources
- Clinical Pharmacogenomics: Pharmacogenomics of Cancer Treatment
- Applied Pharmacogenomics: Pharmacomicrobiomics
- Ethical, Legal, Social, and Economic Issues
- Instructor: Nourtan Abdeltawab
- Instructor: Ramy Karam Aziz
